Biotechnology Specialists and Consultants Wanted ABSF with its partners has come up with an effective, transparent capacity building effort and tools coordinated and developed by stakeholders, including governments, international organizations and other biotech stakeholders that will enable countries in Africa to develop their biotechnology capacity to properly and expediently comply with the requirements under the Cartagena Protocol. To this end, as the private sector, ABSF conducted country level gap analyses and capacity building needs assessment in order to inform the prioritization of efforts to those areas of greatest need on country by country basis. With biotech getting prominence in Africa and the knowledge gap still significant, it is apparent that intensive capacity building programmes remain key focus in the next one decade if biotech applications have to be internalized and applied in crop and animal production to secure food security and enhance the livelihood situation for millions of households across the continent. ABSF is currently recruiting consultants who can offer professional services in the following key areas for the capacity building Programme.
Academic and Professional Requirements Professionals who merit the following requirements should submit their comprehensive CV/Resume’ in word format with at least three referees:
Those professionals who possess doctoral/PhD and post doctoral qualifications are especially encouraged to submit their CVs/Resume’s. Please state your area of competence as per the list of areas indicated above. Nature of the Consultancy The professionals pre-selected and whose names will be stored in the ABSF’s consultant’s database will be called upon from time to time to offer their skills in various African countries depending on the nature of the assignment and the duration that it will take. Consultants will be paid competitive international consultancy rates depending on qualification and experience. Consultants to be chosen for an assignment will be notified one month in advance to enable them prepare adequately and allocate assignment time in their diaries.
